This location is easy to access but the challenge was to be there in the right light at optimal water flow. I love capturing images like this because it gives me an excuse to sit by the river and contemplate ways to harness the chaos and beauty of nature in a single photograph.
I started the day looking for an opportunity to capture a sunrise but heavy cloud cover made me improvise, so I decided to stay near the river. The dense fog and a long exposure helped me create this mystical piece.
After 3 years and 26 attempts of looking over McDonald Falls; one evening finally came together for me. Timing and the best light allowed me to capture this work of art.
